Prior to this course, the only social networking that I took part in was Facebook, Myspace, and Livejournal. I began all three of these while I was in college. My reasons for beginning these were purely personal. During college, they strongly encouraged us to get in contact with alumnae for professional help or advice. I have used Facebook before for professional advice with educators that I graduated with. I think that PLN's are a great idea. I have thoroughly enjoyed the blogs that I have subscribed to through my Google Reader. They have greatly helped and encouraged me during my first year working in education. I can't wait to learn even more useful information from them and through my own PLN.
