Although I was not familiar with Flickr before taking this class, I have used something similar to a photo sharing site before. I thoroughly enjoyed using Flickr and found it entirely too time consuming. While conducting some of my many searches through the site, I couldn't help but think of the many ways that Flickr could be used in the classrooms. Some of the pictures that I found would make wonderful visual aids for the math students, or at least enhance some of the content that one could place on a Promethean board. The theme that I decided to search with on Flickr was cows. I LOVE cows and think that they are very funny and awesome animals. I could definitely use the cow slide show theme in science when we begin to study animals. I can also use the picture that I inserted into this blog post during my language arts class when they have to write descriptive paragraphs. I think that Flickr could be an excellent addition to the classroom. The picture was created by turbotoddi and the following link is where I found it.
