Thing 6

Diigo was a little bit harder to use than I initially thought it would be. After I finally got the hang of how to bookmark sites, I did enjoy compiling all that useful information into one location. I cannot wait to get back to school and share all of this wonderful information with the teachers that I work with. The information that I found will come in very handy if I am ever in a tight situation with no idea of what to do (especially if a teacher is out and didn't tell me where the lesson plans were located!) I think that the students that I work with will also love the math sites. I have found that if you make the lesson as fun as possible, the kids will definitely remember more and will be more cooperative.

  1. What I find so great about Diigo is that my book marks are not just on one computer. They are on any computer with an internet connection. Plus, I can organize my bookmarks and search them.

  3. I've been using Diigo for about a year now, and I have found that as i add more and more bookmarks it is really helpful if I jot just a couple of notes about what I found helpful on the site as I bookmark it. Something quick like "great 5-minute video on phonemic awareness" or "good explanation of academic English vs social English" really helps me to find what I'm looking for in a snap. The more you use Diigo, the more you'll wonder how you ever functioned without it! I admire your willingness to stick with it, even if it was a bit difficult to get started. :)

  4. Diigo wasn't the easiest site for me in the beginning either. There are SO many features that it can be overwhelming and confusing, but in the end after using it a while, I found that it offered me so much more than other online bookmarking sites, and I've never turned back. Like Julie, I admire your willingness to stick to it!! Those who have decided to give it time to grown on them have never looked back. Being able to have access to your favorite sites on ANY computer is hard to give up once you've had it.

The bonus to Diigo is when you can get colleagues using it, too! What a way to share resources!!
